Good MUN journalism answers what happened, who was involved, when, where, why it matters and how it unfolded in the first paragraph, then adds detail in descending order of importance, attributing every claim to a named delegation or the Chair.
The lede carries the 4Ws + 1H: What, Who, When, Where, Why, and How. The "how" can follow in the second paragraph. A reader who stops after one paragraph should still know the news.
Use the inverted pyramid: the most important facts first, supporting detail next, background last. An editor can cut from the bottom without losing the story, which matters when the Press Director has limited space in the conference newsletter.
Use an active verb in the present tense and name the conflict rather than the topic. "Bloc stalls climate finance draft" tells a reader something happened; "Climate finance discussed" does not.
